“Rooster” is a song by the American rock band Alice in Chains, featured on their second studio album, Dirt (1992), and released as the fourth single from the album on February 22, 1993. It is the fifth song on the original pressing of the album and sixth on others. The song was written by guitarist/vocalist Jerry Cantrell for his father, Jerry Cantrell Sr., whose childhood nickname was “Rooster”. Many different verses have been made up and added. I just sing a few. I will sing songs that The Moran Brothers have made famous. For almost thirty years they traveled the country sharing bluegrass, laughter and their Faith with wonderful people. Somebody once told them that we were getting big. They finally figured out it was their waist they were talking about. I would like to share some of their music and laughter with you. Their famous “love” song is Jim Frazier’s favorite song – “If my nose was running money, honey, I blow it out on you” You can find that song on Web site – (note picture is of the Moran Brothers and not someone you might know)
