As graduation comes for many high school and college seniors this next few days, an old song from days of radio comes to mind- “The Halls of Ivy”. It was written by Henry Russell and Vick Knight. It is sometimes called The GRADUATION SONG. The Lettermen recorded it for the show by the same name. The tune for the Alma Mater always was a favorite of mine. I thought it was a real college only to find out it was just for the show. “The Halls of Ivy” is an American situation comedy that ran from 1950 to 1952 on NBC radio, created by Fibber McGee & Molly co-creator/writer Don Quinn. The series was adapted into a CBS television comedy (1954–55). British husband-and-wife actors Ronald Colman and Benita Hume starred in both versions of the show.
