“Oh the liquor (beer) was spilled on the barroom floor”

“Oh the liquor (beer) was spilled on the barroom floor” is a line from a poem called “The Mouse on the Barroom Floor”123. The poem tells the story of a white mouse that comes out of hiding to drink spilled liquor on the barroom floor. The mouse sits back on its haunches and roars, “Bring on the dag-burn cat!” The poem is often recited as a humorous drinking song.
