Cajun Moon is a song written by JJ Cale written in 1974. The text sings of the moon over Acadiana ( Cajun Country) and its influence on living beings , in this case on the life partner whom the moon is said to have taken with him. The person left behind should not worry about it, because it is not she, but the moon that is responsible for the partner’s disappearance. The type of separation remains open, and so any interpretation is possible, from a simple dissolution of the relationship to the suicide of a partner. The most famous versions are by Randy Crawford and Herbie Mann, Cale has little success with the song.
